What we do...
The Tooele County Clerk's office is responsible for business licenses, elections, voter registration, marriage licenses, passports the recording and transcription of the Board of Commissioners public meetings, contracts, liability insurance, record management and risk management for the County.
Board of Commissioners Public Meetings - Regular meetings are held by the Tooele County Board of Commissioners on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Tooele County Building, 47 South Main, Room 310.
Liability Insurance - Process liability claims involving county property, vehicles, etc.
Marriage - Marriage Licenses are issued 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. by prior appointment only. The office is closed on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and all legal holidays. The marriage license application can be completed on-line. Print the application on white 8 1/2 x 11 paper and take the application to the Clerk's office. Do not sign the application until you appear before the Clerk.
Notary Service - Notary Service is available at the Clerk's Office. The charge is $5.00 per signature.
Passport Information - Applications are processed 7:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. by prior appointment only. The office is closed on Friday, Saturday, Sunday and all legal holidays. Passport pictures can be taken in the Clerk's office for $10.00. Passports take an average of 4-6 weeks for processing by the U.S. State Department.
Records Manager - Manage GRAMA (Government Records Access and Management Act) requests.
Risk Management - Manage Risk Assessment Program for county including Accident Review Committee.
