Head Start Program
Salt Lake CAP Head Start is currently accepting applications for the 2012-2013 school year. We will only accept children who are 3 or 4 years old by September 1, 2012. Our goal is to ensure that all families living in the counties of Salt Lake and Tooele have the opportunity to learn about this program.
Head Start is a comprehensive pre-school program for income qualifying families as well as children with documented disability. Our educational achievements are complimented by health and social services for the whole family. All children enrolled receive free meals while attending Head Start classes.
Eligible families are those whose total annual income does not exceed the federal poverty guidelines. The program also provides services to families who do not qualify under the federal poverty guidelines, but have a child with a special need or a family with unique circumstances. Head Start serves all low-income families from all walks of life, including refugees and immigrants, and provides bi-lingual staff as needed.
To find out the dates and times of our next registration, please call the Head Start Hotline at 801-972-2337. If you have additional questions, then you can call the Head Start office in Tooele at 435-882-6743 during normal business hours.
