Bonneville Salt Flats

The most photographed and renowned geographical spot in Tooele County, the Bonneville Salt Flats has played a major role in the county’s rich history. Named after Capt. B.L. Bonneville, an early military explorer of the west, the salt flats are over 44,000 acres in size and were initially crossed by early traders Jedediah Smith and John Fremont.
