4-19-4. Role of the advisory committee .
The Economic Development Advisory Committee is created to assist and
advise the county commission in connection with issues and programs
involving economic development which may include:
(1) facilitating cooperation and coordination with various community
groups and neighborhoods on economic development issues;
(2) making recommendations to the planning commissions, county commission,
and to planning and economic development division staff for programs
in which the county could or should participate to enhance economic
development opportunities, which may be in cooperation with any
appropriate private, public, civic or community agency, group, or
association, or any of the cities, county, state or federal government;
(3) making recommendations to the county commission regarding requests
for financial incentives from prospective businesses;
(4) recommending ways and means of obtaining private, local, county,
state, or federal funds and other participation for the promotion
of economic development projects within the county; and
(5) working with county planning and economic development staff, committees,
and other community based groups, as directed by the county commission,
on economic issues and projects.
