ADMINISTRATIVE CODE ENFORCEMENT HEARING PROGRAM

5-3-4. Authority.

Whenever the ordinance enforcement administrator, chief building officer, or fire marshal determines that a property or building requires demolition, any one of them may demolish or remove the offending structure or exercise any or all of the powers listed in Section 5-3-1 once appropriate notice has been given to a responsible person pursuant to the Uniform Abatement of Dangerous Buildings Code or Uniform Fire Code as required under state law. The ordinance enforcement administrator is authorized to assess all costs for the abatement to the responsible person and use any remedy available under the law to collect the costs. If additional abatements are necessary within two years, treble costs may be assessed against the responsible person for the actual abatement. (Ord. 2005-05,  2/15/05 )
